VOICE CONTROL YOUR HOME
Ambient is a reference design to show how Samsung ARTIK IoT Platform can be implemented into smart IoT light switch. Ambient is a product that we built to communicate and have closer relationship with Legrand, and made it's way to have a deal to put ARTIK 0 platform into their new light switch products.
AMBIENT LEARNS USERS
From what any other smart lightings do, Ambient has machine learning capabilities. After multiple lighting combinations and/or usage of commands via Ambient, it will start learning users' habit and house structure. Whenever you need to get from bedroom to kitchen to get water in the middle of the night, it will light your way so you don't bump your feet or stumble down the stairs. Send message from user to user at the right moment. And light the house time to time when you are away from home for few days based on previous lighting history.
2D PROCESS
Most of the design development were done within front view since this is most likely the view that user will interact when using Ambient. Main focus of the design was to cluster features that are similar to each other and making it easier for users to see and understand it's functionality at a glance.
SEAMLESS INTERACTION
There was much studies in the interaction between the switch and the user about how will it notify them when there is a message, alarms, and notifications without attracting too much attraction every time users pass by. Lights will slowly brighten up as user gets closer and slowly dim down when they get further away.
